Baby Bun
Today I watched a mama bunny on the sidewalk and her baby in distress on the street. The curb was too high for the little guy to hop. His squeals tugged on my heart.
I approached them and mama disappeared into the brush. Baby stopped squeaking but quivered in fear. I knelt.
I placed my hand on the ground, palm side up. Baby bun hesitated slightly and then hopped into my hand. He was the tiniest thing.
I let him go in the brush next to mom. They ran away.
And in that moment I had forgotten about my back pain.
Dealing
These days I’m just trying to deal with chronic pain in my lower back and now in my neck. And I’m not happy about it. I dont have anything else to say.
