Spent a few days in Truckee with Dad and Yum. Mostly just relaxed at the cabin and slept. Sat next to the fire in the evenings.
Trinity 2010
Back in the city. I’m home. Unpacked. Sigh. Post-mountains depression setting in, right on schedule.
My week long hunting trip in October is pretty much the only vacation I get. The rest of the year I jut take 3 day weekends. So I have to squeeze in everything I like to do in my hunting week–not just hunting.
This year I spent the first two days fly fishing. I even went for a quick little swim. I also stayed up really late a couple of nights, and slept in really late a couple of mornings. I took a day off to shoot my new AR. I went wine tasting with Curt and Jeff one afternoon. By Friday it was raining non-stop so it was time to take the rifle out of the case and start hunting–I hunted all day Friday and Saturday.
And then it was Saturday night, the last night, and we’re going home on Sunday morning.
Every year it’s the same. The week goes by too fast. I’m never ready to come home. And once I’m home I’m wishing I were back in the mountains.
A Trinity First
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology I’m on the Internet with my laptop up here in the mountains. There is a Verizon tower on the other side of the lake from this cabin, and I have a clear and unobstructed view. So my 3G connection is fantastic. I’m probably the only person using it up here–this is a pretty remote location.
Deer hunting will never be the same =)
