Non-engineers can skip reading this post

The Pessimist: “The glass is half empty.”

The Optimist: “The glass is half full.”

The Engineer: “The glass is too big.”

Right, Kev?

  1. Is that some kind of jab at me?

The Pessimist: “The glass is half empty.”

The Optimist: “The glass is half full.”

The Engineer: “Fuck it..give me the bottle!”

  2. I’m sorry we have no requirements related to glass size. This will require a change request to be submitted. Sizing will take 3 weeks. As of now glass size is not in scope.

  3. please allow 4-6 weeks after the 3 weeks of sizing for the new glass size to go through plan check submittal. this will require a new permit to be pulled at the cost of 10.00$ per ounce for the new size of the glass. all new glass size requirements are to be submitted along with all volume calculations signed and stamped by a Licensed engineer

  4. There is, of course, no guarantee that we will have capacity to deliver on the glass size requirements untill sizing is complete. This was not part of our current capacity planning, and will need to be evaluated.

  5. When I made this post I *knew* I could count on three certain individuals to respond. I was not disappointed =)

  6. Changing glass size at this point in the project will cost an additional $300 million and slip the filling schedule by 8 months.

  7. unfortunatley do to cost overruns we cannot accept this change orger for this specific glass. please re-submit new design specifications for glass. this however will not affect the pour date of this glass, please ensure that this glass will be filled according to the initial schedule. if this glass is not filled on schedule we will be forced to to assess liquidated damages
