So I got my truck back. Everything appears to be fixed–in fact, it looks better than it did BEFORE the accident! Turns out that the body shop quoted a certain price, but they kept finding more things wrong with the truck. Well, they can’t charge me extra, so they’re forced to fix everything for the quoted price. Or something. Anyway, it’s back.
So it looks better, how does it drive? Same as it ever was. My truck, although ugly, was always mechanically sound. Sure, I never washed it or detailed the inside. However, the MF’er ran. And ran and ran. I’ve had my truck back for 3 days now, and I’ve driven it all 3 days. It’s fine. So I’m all happy and shit.
Still, I can’t help thinking that it’s just a matter of time before it craps out. Past experience has taught me that once a car has gone through a traumatic experience it’s never the same–for example: accident, fire, whatever. I once had a 1991 Honda Accord had a run-in with a tumbleweed. Long story short, it the block blew up–and it was never the same. I’m hoping this won’t happen again with the ol’ Ford Ranger.
Ranger. What a cool name for a truck. And, if you know Mr. Tom Bissell, what a fitting name as well, eh?
Bah. Now I’m rambling.
Over and out.
